Welcome to Church of the Holy Cross
We welcome you to the Anglican Church of The Holy Cross. If you are not familiar with the Anglican Church, we hope this information will help you understand the Worship Service.
Our Worship Service is in the tradition of the Anglican Communion; the 1928 Book of Common Prayer is used as the basis of our Service. In our Service, we kneel to pray, stand to praise the Lord, and sit to hear His Word.
In the church you will see crucifixes, which serve as a reminder of Our Lord's love and suffering for us in atoning for our sins. It is the precious blood of Christ which flowed from His side that washes away our sins; without the crucifixion, there could be no resurrection.
Our central act of worship is the celebration of Holy Communion, which Christ commanded us to do in remembrance of Him. It is through the Holy Communion that we are able to continually offer our selves, our souls and bodies to God the Father Almighty. For this Service the Altar is specially draped, and the priest dons special vestments.
We hope you will join us, participate in the Service and receive great comfort and joy from the Worship of God in a Christian family.
Please stay for coffee and fellowship after the Service.
